Botanical Name: Euphorbia tithymaloides smallii 'Nanus'Native Region/Environment: Widely naturalized, but believed to originate from the West Indies. Sun/Light: Full sun to part shade Temperature: Indoor temperatures over 60 degrees and full to part sun. Outdoors it thrives in warm temperatures or xeriscapes in Zones 10-12. Water: Drought tolerant, requires little water. Allow soil to be dry to the touch before watering. Not tolerant to overwatering or standing water. Soil: Organically rich and porous. Growth Pattern: Clumping succulent shrub with erect growth stems that twist, curve and curl, with opposing curved green leaves. The stems have close internodal leaf separations lending to a full, compact appearance. Mature Size: Slow grower, 18" high and slowly spreads laterally up to several feet wide in a dense clumping manner. Attributes: An usual appearance of solid green leaves opposing one another so each stalk has an axis, but the stalks are not uniform in orientation. An excellent, low maintenance plant for indoor or outdoor gardening, especially rock gardens, so long as temperatures do not dip below 60. Also grows well as a desk top plant in normal bright office light or by a window. Pot: 3.5" or 4" |
