Botanical Name: Hoya aldrichii

Native Region/Environment: Christmas Island, Australia

Sun/Light: Bright indirect light or mild direct morning light.

Temperature:  Ideal temperatures are between 60 and 80F.

Water:  Allow top of soil to dry to touch.  Do not overwater or leave in standing water.

Soil:  Porous, well draining fertile soil.

Growth Pattern:  Moderate growing climbing evergreen perennial.

Mature Size:  Able to grow several feet high on a trellis and will grow longer vines when cascading from a pot or hanging basket. Occasional pruning will result in a fuller plant.

Attributes:  Tight, compact cluster of pink and plum colored flowers which are most fragrant at night.  Lime green oval leaves may display yellow veining.

Small root systems relative to potential plant size.  Low maintenance.  Very long lasting blooms. Do not remove peduncles (flower stalks) after blooming-hoya rebloom from the same peduncles which will increase in length after each successive bloom.

Attractor:  Flowers are laden with abundant sweet nectar that attract hummingbirds, bees, butterflies and moths.
