Botanical Name: Hoya affinisNative Region/Environment: Solomon Islands Sun/Light: Bright indirect light or mild direct morning light. Temperature: Ideal temperatures are between 60 and 80F. Water: Allow top of soil to dry to touch. Do not overwater or leave in standing water. Soil: Porous, well draining fertile soil. Growth Pattern: Trailing evergreen perennial vine. Mature Size: Vigorous growing that must attain 4-5' in length before blooming. Wrap around a trellis or grow from an elevated pot or hanging basket. Occasional pruning will result in a fuller plant. Attributes: Brilliant red flower clusters with yellow contrasting centers. Small root systems relative to potential plant size. Low maintenance. Very long lasting blooms. Do not remove peduncles (flower stalks) after blooming-hoya rebloom from the same peduncles which will increase in length after each successive bloom. Attractor: Flowers are laden with abundant sweet nectar that attract hummingbirds, bees, butterflies and moths. Pot: 4" |
