Botanical Name: Hoya chewiorum

Native Region/Environment: Borneo

Sun/Light:  Bright indirect light or mild direct morning light.

Temperature:  Ideal temperatures are between 60 and 85F.

Water:  Allow top of soil to dry to touch.  Do not overwater or leave in standing water.

Soil:  Porous, well draining fertile soil.

Growth Pattern:  Trailing and gentle twining evergreen perennial vine.

Mature Size:  A slow grower that will grow vines to about 1-2' lengths.  Able to grow on a trellis or cascading from a pot or hanging basket.

Attributes:  H. chewiorum is found in a very small region in a small area and not surprisingly is rare and equally  poses adaptation challenges to grow in collections.  This hoya is not recommended for novice growers.  Dark green papery thin leaves, atypical for hoyas normally succulent leaves.  The flowers are mustard yellow mostly depending on light exposure.

Small root systems relative to potential plant size.  Low maintenance.  Very long lasting blooms. Do not remove peduncles (flower stalks) after blooming-hoya rebloom from the same peduncles which will increase in length after each successive bloom.

Attractor:  Flowers are laden with abundant sweet nectar that attract hummingbirds, bees, butterflies and moths.

Pot:  4"

Please note that hoyas are notoriously challenging to identify.  We identified each plant with care to the best of our knowledge and research, as well as based off the representations from our suppliers.  Refunds or replacements are not offered on hoya purchases.
