Botanical Name: Monstera adansonii

Native Region/Environment: The vast area of distribution makes pinpointing a native zone difficult as it is found throughout South and Central America as well as the Caribbean and West Indies

Sun/Light: Bright, indirect light.

Temperature: Indoor house plant with temperature remaining above 60 degrees.  Outdoor in USDA zones 11-12.

Water:  Best to moisten the entire soil and let it dry to the touch than frequently water small amounts.  Frequent mists are better than frequent watering.  Avoid standing water.

Soil: Loose, fertile and quick draining.

Growth Pattern:  Frequently found in low elevation areas along river basins as a hemi-epiphyte vine growing up attached to rocks and trees in warm and humid environments.

Mature Size: Vines may grow up to 13' long.  Very attractive planted in dense clusters of vines and needs a climbing structure like a moss pole or trellis.

Attributes: Shares the common name, "Swiss Cheese plant", with the closely related Monstera deliciosa despite being separate species.  Medium sized, thick heart shaped leaves that quickly develop oval shaped perforations called fenestrations.

Pot: 3.5" or 4"
