Botanical Name: Monstera adansoniiNative Region/Environment: The vast area of distribution makes pinpointing a native zone difficult as it is found throughout South and Central America as well as the Caribbean and West Indies Sun/Light: Bright, indirect light. Temperature: Indoor house plant with temperature remaining above 60 degrees. Outdoor in USDA zones 11-12. Water: Best to moisten the entire soil and let it dry to the touch than frequently water small amounts. Frequent mists are better than frequent watering. Avoid standing water. Growth Pattern: Frequently found in low elevation areas along river basins as a hemi-epiphyte vine growing up attached to rocks and trees in warm and humid environments. Mature Size: Vines may grow up to 13' long. Very attractive planted in dense clusters of vines and needs a climbing structure like a moss pole or trellis. Attributes: Shares the common name, "Swiss Cheese plant", with the closely related Monstera deliciosa despite being separate species.
