Botanical Name: Philodendron hederaceum 'Brasil'Native Region/Environment: Central America and Caribbean Sun/Light: Can thrive in a wider range of lighting than most philodendron, however, in lower light conditions the leaves will be noticeably less variegated and smaller too. To improve variegation place in bright, indirect light. Temperature: Indoor temperatures above 60 F and avoid cold drafts. Outdoors Hardiness Zones 10b-12. Water: Allow the soil to dry to the touch. Better to thoroughly dampen the soil when watering than to water with smaller amounts, more frequently that leaves the soil unevenly moist. To prevent root rot do not leave in standing water. Soil: Organically rich in a fast draining soil. Growth Pattern: Evergreen perennial climbing that adapts very well to trailing from hanging baskets. Mature Size: Vines will grow to 6' as climbers but will grow longer from a hanging basket. Attributes: An unpredictable blend of variegated and solid colored leaves that features dark green, heart-shaped leaves with splashes of variegation. Pot: 3.5" or 4" |
