Botanical Name: Syngonium podophyllum 'Arrowhead'

Native Region/Environment: Tropical rainforests of southern Mexico to South America and the West Indies.

Sun/Light: Arrowhead likes a sunny location but can tolerate indirect or even low light.  The lower the light exposure more elongated the distances between the leaf nodes as the canes search for light.

Temperature: Temperatures should not exceed 90 degrees, and as temperatures increase sun exposure should decrease.  Conversely, temperatures should not dip below 50 degrees.

Water: Water when the top of the soil is dry to the touch.  Better to water thoroughly less frequently than uneven, frequent waterings which leaves roots struggling in dry soil.  An occasional misting replicates the natural environmental conditions.

Soil: Organically rich, moist soil but never soggy.  The soil should partially dry between watering.

Growth Pattern: Grows as a climbing vine as well as a terrestrial groundcover.  As a houseplant it can easily be trained onto a moss pole or trellis and/or also as a surface, Liana vine.

Mature Size: Indoor as a house plant typical height is 5'-6' as a climber. Will grow much longer in a hanging basket. Juvenile growth tips are fragile and may break easily.  Juvenile leaves are the classic arrowhead shape and become deeply tri-lobed with age.

Attributes: Strong aerial roots used for support and climbing.  Low maintenance and easy care.  Easy to propagate from cuttings.  A uniform green beautiful on its on and very easy to pair with other more demonstrative foliage.

Pot: 3.5" to 4"
