Botanical Name: Syngonium podophyllum 'Batik'Native Region/Environment: Tropical forests of Central America to northern Brasil Sun/Light: Morning sun or bright, indirect afternoon light. Grows well under artificial lights. Temperature: Indoor houseplant 50F to 95F; Outdoor USDA Hardiness Zones 10-12 Water: Prefers consistent moisture, but never soggy. Misting helps replicate the high humidity of its native environment. Soil: Organically rich, porous composition. Responds better to fully moistened soil and less frequent watering than incomplete watering more frequently. Growth Pattern: Perennial climbing vine or Liana, ground cover. Aerial roots will grow at each leaf node Mature Size: As a ground cover it is approximately 6"-8" high but the vines grow aerial roots at the leaf nodes and therefore can grow very long. As a trailing climber 5'-7' high on a support structure and 2'-3' wide. In a hanging basket the vines can easily trail over 8'. Attributes: Classic heart shaped leaves in a bright green with almost electricity patterns emanating from the leaf's central vein in a greenish cream color. Pot: 3.5" or 4" |
