Botanical Name: Syngonium podophyllum 'Batik'

Native Region/Environment: Tropical forests of Central America to northern Brasil

Sun/Light: Morning sun or bright, indirect afternoon light.  Grows well under artificial lights.

Temperature: Indoor houseplant 50F to 95F; Outdoor USDA Hardiness Zones 10-12

Water: Prefers consistent moisture, but never soggy. Misting helps replicate the high humidity of its native environment.

Soil: Organically rich, porous composition.  Responds better to fully moistened soil and less frequent watering than incomplete watering more frequently.

Growth Pattern: Perennial climbing vine or Liana, ground cover.  Aerial roots will grow at each leaf node

Mature Size: As a ground cover it is approximately 6"-8" high but the vines grow aerial roots at the leaf nodes and therefore can grow very long.  As a trailing climber 5'-7' high on a support structure and 2'-3' wide.  In a hanging basket the vines can easily trail over 8'.

Attributes: Classic heart shaped leaves in a bright green with almost electricity patterns emanating from the leaf's central vein in a greenish cream color.

Pot: 3.5" or 4"

All Syngonium specie are natural air purifiers removing formaldehyde, benzene and other VOC's commonly found in indoor air.
