Botanical Name: Heliconia psittacorum variegated 'Lady Di'

Native Region/Environment: Columbia though naturalized through Caribbean, Central America and northern South America

Sun/Light: Semi shade to full sun

Temperature: USDA Zone 10-12 for perennial; zones 8-9 as a die back rhizome perennial provided protection from ground freezing and colder regions as an annual or a indoor house plant.

Water: Frequent, consistent moist in watering and misting too. Do not water leaves in direct light to prevent sun burn spots.

Soil: Loose, moist, fertile, draining soil.

Growth Pattern: The rhizome spreads laterally underground as a clumping variety. Long narrow leaves are elliptical with pronounced variegation of creamy whites and greens.  Can be a die back perennial in zone 8 and 9.

Mature Size: Grows to 4-6' tall.

Attributes: Stunning foliage; highly prized tropical feel.  Low maintenance.
